Must Do Things On Koh Phangan
One of the main reasons that people head from Bangkok to Koh Phangan is to experience the famous Full Moon Party. Whilst that is a guaranteed awesome time, I wanted to give you a list of things you must do when you’re on the island apart from the big party – if you do all of these 5 great activities then you’ll have an absolute blast!
Thong Sala Night Market
I was quite surprised that when I asked all my friends in Thailand what the best thing to do on Koh Phangan, the majority said it was the Thong Sala Night Market. So the day I arrived I headed to the market, my friends were not wrong! In Thailand night markets are a big thing and you will be able to buy anything you need. Make sure you go there hungry because it’s foodie heaven, the best bit is that the food is really cheap so it won’t break the bank.
A Cooking Class
On your holiday in Thailand you’ll be blown away by how good the food is, so why not try cooking it yourself? It made me appreciate every meal more after my class. You can join the class for lunch or dinner, whichever you choose you will have a great time. We ended up cooking 2 dishes each and then the group sat down for a feast sharing each other’s culinary delights. I must say it is a little nerve racking when the rest of the group tastes your dishes. It is a great way to meet new people and have a fun few hours.
Visit A Waterfall
Of course you will want to spend a lot of time on the beautiful sweeping beaches, but you will also love heading inland and finding the waterfalls. There are a total of seven on the island waiting for you to discover them. Go with a group, bring a picnic and some drinks and have an unforgettable day. My favourite was the Than Sadet waterfall, it was so beautiful I ended up taking hundreds of photos!
Sunset From Amsterdam Bar
A special mention for Amsterdam bar and the sunset you can see here, you won’t find a better place on the island in my opinion. They have a swimming pool, mouth watering cocktails and a DJ playing some laid back beats – everything needed for the ultimate sunset experience – don’t miss this one guys.
