Travel Essentials
Having spent most of the last 15 years travelling throughout the world has taught me a lot about what I need to have packed, being prepared makes life much easier. Whether it has been backpacking, volunteering, cruising or guiding my parents – I always make sure that I have the same 3 things with me.
A Bag That Never Lets You Down
You must , must, must, have a bag that you know will never let you down. It needs to hold everything you bring comfortably, be secure and easy to carry around. There are so many types of traveling bags out there on the market, so don’t go for the first one you see – take your time and make an informed choice because it will impact on your travels. Check out reviews online, then go to the store and feel how comfortable it feels on your back. This is where you shouldn’t save money for the sake of saving, you get what you pay for in a bag.
Travel Insurance Is A Must Have
I have met so many travellers around the globe that have left home without travel insurance – this should never happen! Firstly, it will end up costing you a fortune possibly hundreds of thousands of dollars. Secondly, it is selfish because your family will have to fund your bills if something serious has happened to you. Lastly, it’s really quite silly not to be insured when you travel, if you lose your laptop or hurt yourself, you need to make sure you’re covered.
The Daily Tablets
When you travel or are living in remote areas it can sometimes be difficult to get the vitamins and other things that your body relies on. Personally I carry vitamin C, fish oil and also some vegan powder drinks full of nutrients. These can keep your immune system healthy and make sure you’re energised for the experiences ahead.
What are you ‘must haves’ when travelling? I would love to hear about what you guys need before you hit the road. It’s always great to hear from you because I always seem to learn a trick or two. All you have to do is pop your thoughts in the comment section below this article – thanks for sharing!
