5 New Year Resolution Ideas for 2018
That time of year has come to choose a New Year resolution. The idea is to better your life and give you a sense of accomplishment when you have reached your goal. Here are 5 New Year resolution ideas for 2018.
Plan a Life-Changing Expedition
There are so many exciting places that you can go in the world. You can travel to Tibet and embark on a spiritual journey that will allow you to focus on what will truly make you happy. If you like food than go to Italy or France and try as many new dishes as you can. Go on a trek somewhere in the world that will inspire you like the trail to Machu Picchu, climb Mt. Kilimanjaro, or head to Corsica and do the GR20.
Volunteer
There are so many valuable volunteering experiences in the world. You can stick close to home and volunteer at an animal shelter, help the elderly, work with troubled youth, work on events, or join projects to help clean up garbage.
There are also plenty of opportunities globally and you will find many websites that will offer you valuable experiences like teaching English in a foreign country, helping build shelters, saving wildlife, building wells in poor villages, and helping in hospitals. Volunteering is a great way to feel like you are making a difference in the world and you will find it very rewarding.
Have a Change of Career
If you are unsatisfied with your career than this is a great time to make a change. If you have no idea what you want to do than you can sign up for some night courses to improve your education and figure out what you are interested in.
Changing your career is not usually an overnight process but with some careful planning and budgeting you will find a new career that satisfies you. If you want a total change of scene, then you could get a job which provides accommodation. Some ideas are jobs in private households, working on a cruise ship or being a nanny.
Go Travelling
Travelling by yourself is a great way to learn more about yourself and figure out what you really want to do. Figure out beforehand where you want to go, what you want to see and then pick up some really good gear that will last the trip. Try to do something new each day that you have never done before.
Find out if you can work in the destinations beforehand in case you run short of money. Meeting new people, experiencing different cultures, and realizing that you can accomplish something all on your own is a great way to reset your life.
Adopt an Exercise Routine
Across the world the memberships for gyms go up in January only to have most people lose interest by February. But if you know that you are not good at sticking to an exercise routine there are things that you can do without shelling out an expensive gym membership that you won’t use. Start small by taking the stairs at work or walking to nearby places instead of driving.
Try to use your lunch breaks at work for a little bit of exercise. Spend your weekends playing sports with your friends. Try to increase the amount of exercise that you do each month by 10 percent. Your health will be better, your thoughts will be clearer and you will be proud of yourself for sticking to your New Year resolution!
